Tyler Dillon

Athletic Director, Head Coach - Varsity Boys Basketball

Tyler Dillon is a Jacksonville Beach native that attended both Fletcher High School and University of North Florida. While at Fletcher, he played both basketball and baseball and lettered in both. He has the philosophy that the purpose of physical education is to teach the whole student, not just their body and movement and that physical education provides the opportunity to teach students about movement, strategies, teamwork, problem solving, and life-long health related fitness skills. He has been working with children and athletics for the past ten years. He has a wealth of experience including substitute teaching in physical education, and all grades between K-8 within the Catholic Diocese. Also, he has coached both basketball and softball at St. Paul’s Catholic School since 2015. In addition to his experience within schools, he has worked alongside Tommy Hulihan with both is summer/winter sports camps and his summer/winter basketball league since 2012. Tyler has the love for the beach community, the patience of Job, and the knowledge of what makes a physical education teacher reach which is why he will be the perfect addition to Beaches Chapel.

Beaches Chapel School offers an excellent program for athletics and activities. We are very proud of our student participants, coaches, and advisors, and appreciate the positive contribution they make to our school. In keeping with the Beaches Chapel School philosophy, we encourage students, regardless of their skill level, to participate in a wide variety of activities. Athletics offer an opportunity to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Our school athletics/activities foster a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. They provide an opportunity for students to work with caring Christian adults, build a sense of self-esteem, and learn Christian sportsmanship. We expect all athletes, coaches, parents, and spectators to always have integrity, show respect for all players, and never contribute to unfair practices.

I look forward to seeing all our students participating in our athletic programs and let’s make this year be the best for the Beaches Chapel Lions!!
